Art of the Struggle

“Art of the Struggle” was a call to action for the young artists to reach and present some honest work that showed their perspective of life so far. Lopez’s “Breaking Through”, pencil on canvas, contains the sentence: “I’ve been suffering at home alone with a broken imagination”.

Marquze Killion “Q” invited Artist Ray Mc Cray to come out to an art show and open mic. It turned out to be a fundraiser for Jovenes Inc. on Plesent, just off Cesar Chavez Avenue. in Boyle Hightes.

Marquze said of the process of developing the show: “I learned that creativity is the key to bring people together”

Jovenes is a place of personal transformation for homeless, at-risk youth (18-25) and gives them a chance to create a path to personal growth and success. Their Mission is to help homeless youth and at-risk families become productive and integrated members of the community.
